A special screening of the short film A Life Less Safe, a film exploring the experiences of Black and other racially minoritised people living with severe mental and physical health conditions during the Covid-19 pandemic.
The film A Life Less Safe is part of a research project by people with experience of severe mental health challenges who have worked as peer researchers, alongside a team of researchers at King’s College London and Global Black Thrive, and was made by BAFTA award winning documentary makers Dochearts. Full details of the event are here.
The film will be followed by a short panel discussion, to be chaired by Dr Lade Smith (President of the Royal College of Psychiatrists), with panellists including Councillor Dr Jacqui Dyer MBE (Vice Chair of England’s Mental Health Taskforce and Mental Health Equalities Advisor for NHS-England), and others who appear in the film.
