How does community safety affect our daily lives? From risks in our homes to hazards in public spaces and online, many people are unaware of the potential dangers or how unprepared they might be for emergencies.

The event will include:

A guided tour of SafetyWorks!’s life-sized "safety town" to experience real-life risk scenarios and safety strategies.

A ‘bonfire in the park’ activity, with discussions on firework and bonfire safety ahead of Bonfire Night on 5th November.

Discussions and storytelling about how community safety affects you and your community.

Creative and craft activities such as designing safety posters.

Opportunities to give feedback and share ideas for future community safety initiatives.

Supported by researchers from Northumbria University and staff members from the Prevention and Education team at Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service, this event promises to be a highly engaging and memorable experience.
