We will show two 10 minute creative documentary films from the left-behind locations of Southport and Rochdale.
Between each of these three core activities we will have contributions from artists including Salford’s Simon Buckley, Southport’s Carren Waterfield, poet Anthony Rowland and others (tbc) who will share creative works about their experience of ‘place’
It will focus on creative placemaking, cultural policy, and social infrastructure, targeting policymakers, practitioners, community leaders, and the general public. The event draws upon case studies from the towns of Rochdale and Southport in the Northern region of England. It aims to share new research and innovative thinking on placemaking, and policy interventions aimed at 'levelling up' areas that have been left behind.
The event will be a 2-hour hybrid panel discussion featuring policy and sector stakeholders, including presentations, creative performances, video segments, and interactive discussions
