Design for Education - a TEA Talks Event

TEA Talks are interactive events on the subjects of Technology, Environment and Architecture. This particular event will focus on Design for Education.

What’s on offer?

This TEA talks event will discuss the impact of design on education, specifically focusing on how design can shape the spaces and tools for learning. The talks will present a series of case studies and research developed from across Europe, North America, South America and Asia.

What’s it about?

This TEA talks on Design for Education will be a great inspiration for teachers, students as well as practitioners, educational researchers, architects, policymakers, and behaviour and built environment researchers.

This event provides the tools to develop innovative approaches to design for education and education spaces, with the talks and case studies illustrating the action required to foster socially responsible design for education.

Alongside this event we will present the book Design for Education, Spaces and Tools for Learning, edited by Ana Rute Costa and Rachel Cooper. As the contributions of this book show, we must look at education as part of a complex system, and we need to adopt an cross-cutting approach involving many stakeholders and bringing together experts from a range of different fields and backgrounds to improve future learning and teaching environments. The event provides guidance and a theoretical framework for designing spaces and tools for learning.

Who’s leading the event?

Dr Ana Rute Costa
