What’s on offer?

Join us for a dynamic workshop designed to empower teachers in the fight against misinformation. Building on the success of our UKRI-funded project, Project Real, which has reached over 47,000 visitors, this session will focus on equipping educators with the tools to help young people recognize and challenge fake news and misinformation. Collaborating with Education Scotland and Police Scotland, we’re developing new materials that address the legal challenges of deepfakes and online risks—critical topics in today’s digital age.

This combined talk and workshop will offer a brief overview of the current landscape of misinformation, particularly among young people. You’ll explore ready-to-use materials and tools for teaching these essential skills, and have the opportunity to contribute your ideas for future lesson plans on emerging issues like Generative AI. Together, we’ll build a network of educators dedicated to tackling these challenges head-on, ensuring our students are well-prepared for the digital world.
