What’s on offer?

The event will focus on introducing primary 7 pupils to digital mapping. The two digital mapping providers will provide presentations and digital mapping experiences for the pupils to engage with: for example, one will look at the location of ice cream shops in Scotland! The pupils will engage with this experience at the university and discussions in the forum at the end of the session will focus on the value of geospatial skills as a possible career pathway option and be supported by Skills Development Scotland

What’s it about?

The event will measure pupil impact with access to and engagement with digital technology and encourage pupils to move everyday knowledge into powerful knowledge which will support curricular development.

Who’s leading the event?

Presenters are from two digital mapping companies: Digimaps and ArcGIS and career development input from Skills Development Scotland.

Open to

Primary 7 pupils from Newark Primary School, Inverclyde. The school focuses on improving its global awareness to follow up on its Education Scotland and GTCS award-winning anti-racism in Scotland short film.
