What’s on offer?

Join this online interactive event and engage in a multisensory soundscape. Discover what it is like to be a young person experiencing homelessness while continuing in education and employment. This session explores the barriers faced by young people experiencing homelessness and uncovers what can be done to improve their lives. Join us as we share their views and experiences, in their own words, and with their own voices.

What’s it about?

The Our Voices project is a recent UCL Grand Challenges funded participatory project which aimed to address some of the challenges in accessing education and employment faced by young people experiencing homelessness. The project engaged with nine co-creators aged 18-26 with lived experience of homelessness who designed the research questions, conducted interviews with 17 other homeless young people aged 16-24, identified themes in the data through the production of collaborative artworks, and identified recommendations for ways in which young people’s lives could be improved and supported through experiences of homelessness.

During this hour-long online interactive event, we will discover more about the project through a multisensory soundscape produced from recordings and artworks created during the participatory workshops. This interactive session will invite you to reflect on the experience and impact of being part of the session, and will welcome questions and reflections about the research process itself.
