Stories of Women in Academia

What’s on offer?

The stand-alone online event showcases 10 women academics who will talk about their life stories, their routes into academia, their challenges and successes, what drives them and how they manage their wellbeing and work-life balance. Attendees will be able to log on and they will be allocated a room to listen to talks from women academics. Each talk lasts 15 mins and attendees will be able to dip in and out.

What’s it about?

The aim of this event is to engage young adults with understanding how women academics from diverse backgrounds have started, developed and managed their academic careers, recognised their successes, managed their failures and, overall, how they have managed their emotional and physical wellbeing.

Who’s leading the event?

The event is being co-ordinated and hosted by a partnership between Gender Institute (GI) and the Widening Access (WA) Team at Royal Holloway, Univeristy of London, and the Women in Academia Support Network (WiASN).
