Join us for a poster showcase event in Craigmillar Library Saturday 9th November 12-2pm to learn more about combatting HIV stigma through posters created by students at Castlebrae Community High School and George Watson’s College.
Sign-up is required for the showcase event and light refreshments will be provided.
The posters will be exhibited on display in Craigmillar Library for 2 weeks (Friday 8th November – Friday 22nd November).
In the UK, HIV is now a chronic, manageable condition yet research illustrates that it is still very much stigmatised. Are the ‘tombstone’ adverts of the 1980’s still haunting us today? And how can we eradicate this stigma for good?
Psychology students at Castlebrae Community High School and George Watson’s college have been learning about HIV stigma. They have created posters with key public health messages about the importance of ending HIV stigma.
These innovative and creative public health messages warning against HIV stigma will be displayed in an exhibition and showcase event at Craigmillar Library, providing the Craigmillar community with the opportunity to learn more about HIV stigma today.
Posters can be viewed at leisure in the exhibition on display from Friday 8th November to Friday 22nd November.
On Saturday 9th November, 12-2pm, a special showcase event will be held with students, teachers, academics and public health professionals. Sign up is required for this element.
