Talk and Echo

Poetry Workshop

A handwritten sign reads 'poetry' sticking out from rows and rows of books.

What’s on offer?

Approx 3 hour interactive poetry workshop with creative writers and expert linguists.

What’s it about?

The event aims to inspire thought-provoking poet-public-dialogues.

Your voice, real-life experiences and reflections are welcomed for contribution.

The workshop will explore how everyday conversations can hold deep personal meaning, shaping our social lives and the very essence of who we are.

These seemingly ordinary conversations can be unfolded through poetry and drama-based activities, and the workshop will draw on the hosts expertise to explore social interactions and poetic expression with the ‘everyday conversationalists’ who walk among us!

Who’s leading the event?

The workshop will be hosted by Yanyan Li, PhD student, and experts in conversational analysis, in association with Professor of Applied Linguistics Steve Mann from the University of Warwick.
