In a world where adults think they know what’s best, is banning social media the answer to improving everyone’s mental health? Do they really understand how young people use and experience social media?
Join us for a series of interactive activities to explore what social media really means to young people, and how we can make it a positive experience for everyone.
Social media and Me is a stall being run by the #So.Me team as part of the Festival of Social Science Activity Trail at Salford Museum & Art Gallery. We'll be on the trail from 10-11:30am, as a space for young people to be part of the conversation about social media and mental health, and have their say.
This is interactive drop-in session for young people aged 11-18 to share their thoughts on social media:
#So.Me – Creatively collage your life on social media, and spend some time reflecting on what it means to you. There will be a range of materials to get crafty with!
The Social Network – Mapping use and experiences of social media to create a visual representation of young people’s online lives.
Designing the ideal social media platform – Share what you think you needs to change about social media, and your suggestions for the perfect platform!
