You are invited to a performance of 'We are the ones we've been waiting for' a legislative theatre performance developed by young people, which aims to improve mental health services for young adults in Greater Manchester.
Legislative theatre involves developing real life scenarios out of young people's lived experiences which are made into a play. This is then presented in front of people with the ideas and power (e.g. policy makers, commissioners) to make a difference in young people's lives. This is an opportunity to learn about legislative theatre and youth mental health. This project builds on the Optimistic Minds project, supported by Emerging Minds: a UKRI-funded research network that aims to reduce the prevalence of mental health problems experienced by children and young people.
Dr James Duggan (Research Fellow in the School of Childhood, Youth and Education Studies), Dr Sonia Bussu (Senior Lecturer in Politics and Publuc Administration) and Dr Sarah Parry (Clinical Psychologist and Practice Fellow), Manchester Metropolitan University
Open to all.
Of particular interest to young people, mental health professionals, policy and decision makers and anyone with an interest in improving mental health services or legislative theatre.
