6-6.20pm 10-15 Welcome and introduction and talk about community technology and speculative fiction. How can writing help us to imagine a different future? How can thinking “what if” shape our imagination of the future?
6.30 – 8pm Participatory workshops where we will listen to readings, engineer new words, create an imaginary glossary for future community technology, plan and write together, use pictures and collage, be creative, take some chances!
In person only
How can our communities take control of the technology that has become central to so many aspects of our lives?
And, if we do, what are we going to do with it?
In this Thinking Futures Event, we take inspiration from diverse community technology practices and speculative fiction to explore these questions through a participatory workshop.
We’ll engage with the hope and aspirations of community technology practitioners, explore futures in the making, and imagine!
