What’s on offer?

45-minute panel discussion on levelling up, panel consisting of academic and sector leading experts. Followed by audience Q&A. 

What’s it about?

The panel will discuss regional inequalities and how to encourage policy that bridges this divide. It will address the issue of levelling up and ask how this can be practically achieved in the context of London and beyond. 

Who’s leading the event?

Andy Haldane - Chair of the government’s Levelling Up Advisory Council. Former Bank of England Chief Economist and current Executive of the Royal Society of Arts, member of the Monetary Policy Committee, and Chair of the Industrial Strategy Council

Professor Anand Menon - Director of the UK in a Changing Europe initiative and Professor of European Politics and Foreign Affairs at King's College London. e has held visiting positions at New York University, Columbia University and the Universite Libre de Bruxelles, amongst others. He is an associate fellow of Chatham House and Senior Associate member of Nuffield College, Oxford. He is co-editor of the journal West European Politics. 

Professor Bobby Duffy - Director of the Policy Institute and Professor of Public Policy. Bobby sits on several advisory boards including Chairing both the Campaign for Social Science and the CLOSER Advisory Board, is a member of the Executive of the Academy of Social Sciences, a trustee of British Future and the Centre for Transforming Access and Student Outcomes in Higher Education (TASO) and a Senior Fellow of the Munk School of Global Affairs & Public Policy, University of Toronto.
