What's on offer?
The exhibition shows a selection of photographs of mundane moments in everyday life, and their interpretations by the illustrator.
The event invites participants to explore everyday life in cities and neighbourhoods, and celebrate the diversity in it in a fun way through photography and illustration.
The exhibition launch is on the 27th October, 1 pm, at the James McCune Smith Learning Hub Foyer, with a short panel discussion and Q&A facilitated by Dr Alison McCandlish.
What's it about?
“52 Squares: Diversity in Everyday Life” is an exhibition discussing diversity in urban life and questions how the same moments can be interpreted in different ways by different individuals.
Who's leading the event?
Produced by Dr Bilge Serin and illustrator Funda Mengilli. Dr Bilge Serin is an urbanist and social scientist working on everyday life, cities, and contemporary urban experience. Funda Mengilli is a children’s book illustrator.
