What's on offer?

AWAY FROM HOME is a new exhibition based on the research of Professor Stacey Pope from Durham’s Department of Sport and Exercise Sciences.

The exhibition explores the experiences of women fans of both Newcastle and Sunderland who have been loyal supporters from the 1950s through to the present day, as well as presenting new artworks reflecting the research themes and imagining the future for women involved in football.

The exhibition is open to all throughout November, and can be seen at the Graham Sports Centre, or online here

What's it about?

On the morning of Sunday 9 November, visitors can meet Nocciola The Drawer, one of the artist’s involved in the project, who has produced a spectacular new mural titled Meet The Ball.

As well as visiting the exhibition and seeing the artwork, visitors can try their luck at a game of finger football to win an exclusive football themed playing card to take away.

Please note, this activity coincides with the Durham Women’s vs. Newcastle United Women’s football match, kicking off at 12pm at Maiden Castle.
