Exploring AI Images of Professionals
Date & time
28 October - 31 October 2025
What's on offer?
An interactive installation where young people and adults can investigate the biases present in AI images. You’ll have the chance to see AI generated images of different jobs and explore how this technology is not as accurate as you might think. In addition to the installation, we’ll have resources to help both young people and their parents use AI responsibly.
What's it about?
In this research project we examined whether AI might create images of people which follow societal expectations rather than real life. We asked AI to make images of men and women who do 30 different jobs. Then, we looked to see if there were any patterns in the images that might be different to what we see in the real world. We also looked to see if some groups were showed differently to others. At this event you’ll get to explore our images through an interactive display and uncover some of these patterns yourself. We’ll also discuss ways that you can use AI safely and avoid the problems with AI. Materials will be provided to help you learn more about AI and how to use it safely and effectively.
