What's on offer?
How does faith shape working life in healthcare – and how can the NHS better support religious identity to enhance staff wellbeing, equality, and patient care?
Join Dr YingFei Héliot (University of Surrey) and guest speakers from the NHS, for an inspiring evening, exploring the lived experiences of healthcare staff and patients around religion, belief, and identity.
Building on ground-breaking research with NHS Trusts, and premiering a powerful short film, this event will highlight how inclusivity can transform the working lives of employees of faith.
What's it about?
The evening will open with informal networking and refreshments, giving you the opportunity to connect with healthcare professionals, community members, and researchers. You will then discover the findings from Dr Héliot’s national survey with NHS Employers, which will challenge common assumptions and spark new perspectives.
A thought-provoking panel discussion will follow with guest speakers, and practical strategies for building supportive, faith-inclusive workplaces will be shared. You’ll have the opportunity to hear real-world case studies drawn from the experiences of NHS staff of different faiths and beliefs, exploring the challenges they face and the solutions that work, and collaborate on activities that will develop fresh, actionable ideas to help create a truly inclusive healthcare environment.
Who's leading the event?
Dr YingFei Heliot, University of Surrey
