What's on offer?

A practical 2-hour workshop on how to spot greenwashing by fashion labels and what to do about it. The workshop aims at providing you with a deeper understanding of greenwashing, an increased ability to distinguish greenwashed from genuine environmental and climate related claims of fashion companies and knowledge of official UK monitoring and reporting mechanisms.

This workshop is for fashion consumers who want to shop more sustainably.

What's it about?

Against the background of the climate crisis and unabated human-caused global warming, companies, and fashion companies in particular, are under pressure to present themselves as sustainable and on the path to net-zero. As a result, they promote their products as “green”, “recycled”, or “eco- friendly”. This raises the question whether such claims are justified and reflect a substantial environmental investment and related climate action over time.

As consumers we face the challenge to evaluate such claims. It is here where the workshop comes in, aimed at empowering you to scrutinize the substance and truthfulness of such sustainability claims.

Who's leading the event?

Dr Anna Piper and Dr Thomas Bundschuh
