What's on offer?

“Girls – Get on Yer Bikes!” is a creative storytelling competition for teenagers, taking place as part of the Festival of Social Sciences. Participants can submit creative works in a wide range of formats, including TikToks or videos, short stories, zines, art, sculptures, collages, or any other format you like. The main event is the in-person awards and celebration where the top three entries will be announced.

What's it about?

This competition invites teenage girls, trans girls, and nonbinary teens to express their experiences of moving around their city; cycling, skating, rollerblading, or any other way of getting around. It’s an opportunity to explore and share the joys, challenges, and personal meaning of being active in your city.

This event is led by Kassandra Moosbrugger.

Open to

Open to teenage girls, trans girls, and nonbinary teens aged 12–18 living in Glasgow who want to share their experiences of cycling, skating, rollerblading, or getting around their city.

Of particular interest to

Of particular interest to young people interested in active travel, creativity and expressing their personal experinces of moving around the city.
