What's it about?

How do we tell the story of homicide, and what can we learn from looking beyond the headlines?

Drawing on decades of research into homicide in England and Wales, this interactive session explores how researchers and filmmakers worked together to transform complex data into an accessible animated film.

Following a short screening, we'll go behind the scenes with the researchers and creative team (Popla Media) to explore the challenges of telling sensitive stories about violence and inequality. Joined by a member of the charity Support After Murder and Manslaughter (SAMM), we'll also consider the human impact of homicide and the responsibilities involved in communicating these stories to the public.
