What's on offer?

Personal Education Plans in Northern Ireland where to from here?

Join Dr. Patricia Nicholl from Queen's as she outlines the findings of her recent doctoral and first Northern Ireland research study on the effectiveness of Personal Education Plans (PEP) for supporting the education outcomes of children in care.

The event will host an opportunity to disseminate and discuss the research findings; explore with a panel of interested experts any updates in practice; and chart a way forward for the future implementation of statutory Personal Education Plans

What's it about?

PEPs provide a crucial mechanism through which the education of children in care is supported and promoted. They were introduced to address the overwhelming international evidence that the educational outcomes of children in care are poor in comparison with their peers.

Who's leading the event?

Dr Patricia Nicholl from the School of Social Sciences, Education and Social Work at Queen's University Belfast
