What's it about?
We invite businesses, trade unionists, and the public to take part in a special event featuring the ETUI AI board game, co-facilitated by University of Stirling and one of the game’s co-creators. Together, we’ll embark on an engaging, hands-on journey into the impacts of artificial intelligence on the workplace.
Using immersive scenarios, roleplay, and strategic discussions, participants will map out how AI is changing different industries, debate risks and opportunities, and collaborate to develop practical solutions. Whether you’re an employer, employee, union representative, or simply curious about AI, you’ll gain new perspectives on negotiation, social dialogue, and the challenges brought by digitalisation.
This interactive session is designed to foster dialogue, spark critical thinking, and empower everyone to better understand – and shape – the future of work with AI. All are welcome, and no prior knowledge is required to participate. Come ready to play, learn, and help influence how we approach AI at work!
During the session, attendees will have the opportunity to:
- Gain a clear view about what AI is, what it can and cannot do.
- Understand the various stakeholders and shareholders involved in the adoption and use of AI in the workplace.
- Gain knowledge about risks associated with this technology from a business and worker’s perspective.
- Learn what type of negotiations are important to have when discussing the adoption of AI at work.
- Network and engage with others interested in the topic.
Who's leading the event?
Dr Vassilis Galanos, SFHEA, Lecturer in Digital Work, Stirling Business School, University of Stirling.
Dr Aida Ponce Del Castillo, Senior Researcher, European Trade Union Institute Foresight Unit
Open to
This event is generally open, however, with an emphasis in employers, employees, union representatives, or anyone simply curious about AI. Young people are welcome, aged above 16.
Of particular interest to
Of particular interest to those using AI in their workplace, consider using it, have strong opinions about not using it, or simply want to gain a thorough understanding of what AI is, can and cannot do, and how to navigate the complex hype about it. It is of great interest to trade unionists who want to understand how to protect workers when AI poses workplace risks (such as surveillance, data leaks, work intensification, etc). Also of interest for regulators and educators.
Event booking deadline
24 hours before the event.
