What's it about?
Parks and green spaces are important for our health and wellbeing. They give us places to relax, enjoy nature, be active, and spend time with loved ones. But not everyone has the time to use them as much as they’d like.
Our research shows that some groups of people, particularly those who are busy working, caring for their family, or who identify as an ethnic minority, disabled, woman, or in financial difficulty, might find it especially challenging to get to or use their nearest park.
This day of activities will help everyone feel as safe, welcome, and included as possible when getting out into their local park. We’ll be hosting a range of activities designed to encourage more people to visit their park and make the most of the time they do have.
Our activities will provide a chance to have fun and relax, while also giving you some ideas that can fit into park routines in the future, or could even be used at home in the garden. In doing so, we hope to build your confidence and connection with nature, helping you make the most of what green spaces have to offer.
