What's on offer?

Join us for an in-person interactive workshop at the Salford Museum & Art Gallery on Saturday, 25 October, from 1:00 to 4:00 PM. The event will include hands-on activities where participants share their work/home setups and a small exhibition showcasing new building designs, workplace technologies, and innovation master plans. Tea, coffee, and biscuits will be provided, and attendance is free of charge.

What's it about?

The event explores how our homes and offices are changing after COVID-19 and the rise of remote work. Together, we will discuss how fast-paced shifts in working life contrast with the slower housing and office design rhythms. Key questions include: How should future live/work models look? What challenges and opportunities do hybrid and flexible roles bring? And how might our cities adapt? Expect lively conversation, collaborative reflection, and practical inspiration for reimagining the future of work and home.

Who's leading the event?

Fadi Shayya, Lecturer in Architecture and Urbanism at the University of Salford

Hajar Al-Janabi, PhD student at the University of Salford

Tanja Poppelreuter, Reader in Architectural Humanities
