What's on offer?

Join B Local Cornwall and the University of Exeter for an inspiring morning exploring how businesses can create positive environmental impact while building resilient, future-focused organisations.

The morning will combine research insights, business perspectives and interactive discussion, creating space for participants to share experiences, explore emerging challenges and identify practical opportunities for action.

Over breakfast and conversation, participants will connect with other purpose-driven organisations and contribute to a wider discussion about the role of business in shaping a more sustainable future for Cornwall.

What's it about?

Businesses are facing growing expectations from customers, employees, investors and communities to demonstrate positive environmental and social impact. At the same time, organisations must navigate financial pressures, changing regulations and increasing demands on resources.

Drawing on recent University of Exeter research and the experiences of local businesses, this event will explore:

- How organisations are responding to environmental challenges.

- What responsible business looks like in practice.

- The opportunities presented by circular economy and sustainability approaches.

- How businesses can create long-term value for people, place and planet.

- Why collaboration and collective action are increasingly important in addressing complex environmental challenges.

Rather than focusing solely on compliance or certification, the event will encourage participants to reflect on the broader role businesses can play in creating resilient communities, healthy environments and prosperous local economies.

Who's leading the event?

Hosted by B Local Cornwall, with contributions from:

- Researchers from the University of Exeter Business School

- Local B Corp and purpose-led business leaders
