Doing Justice to Children’s Voices

Join us for an engaging evening exploring how children's voices can be better heard in healthcare, education and social care. Following a short introduction to epistemic justice, members of Bristol's Young People's Advisory Group (YPAG) will present creative work from a workshop before joining practitioners and researchers for a panel discussion and audience Q&A. Attend in person at Watershed Bristol or online. 

Children are often asked for their opinions, but are they genuinely listened to? This event explores what it means to treat children as knowledgeable experts on their own lives.

Researchers from the Epistemic Injustice in Healthcare project (EPIC) and the Centre for Childhoods and Social Justice join practitioners and young people to discuss how children's voices are heard - or ignored - in health care, education and social care. Creative work by Bristol's Young People's Advisory Group (YPAG) will spark discussion about how adults can better recognise and respond to children's knowledge and lived experience.

Open to everyone aged 16+. Young people aged 11–15 are welcome when accompanied by an adult.
