What's on offer?

Join us for an interactive exhibition exploring eating well on a budget. The event will include an interactive game exploring the wider context that affects how we eat. Alongside this, you'll have the chance to talk to public health nutritionists and ask questions about eating well. There will also be a range of information available to take home.

What's it about?

There is a wealth of misleading information around eating well. As public health nutritionists, we feel it is important for the public to understand that many of the forces that influence our diets are largely outside individual control. Our research shows that people feel like a failure when they do not meet nutrition and dietary guidelines. We want people to understand that there are many complex factors that impact on food choice, so they appreciate that there are wider forces at play - such as money, finances and the cost of living - and it is not just about those individuals failing or not trying hard enough.

Who's leading the event?

The event is led by the Food, Eating and Health Research Group, and will be delivered by the group's co-leads Dr Jordan D. Beaumont (Sheffield Hallam University) and Dr Beverley O'Hara (Leeds Beckett University).
