What's on offer?
Join us for a lively, interactive workshop that aims to help women develop practical skills, confidence and an entrepreneurial mindset.
Following refreshments served on arrival, a series of talks and discussions will kick-off from 10.15am. Lunch will be provided, followed discussions and practical take-aways to help you on the road to financial independence.
What's it about?
Women in deprived communities can face barriers to income generation, skills development and entrepreneurship, including financial pressures, caring responsibilities and uncertainty around benefits. Our research explores whether starting small can create new opportunities for women alongside them claiming benefits. Long-term, our work aims to develop practical approaches that support women’s financial independence, confidence and entrepreneurial opportunities.

Dr Carolyn McMillan, Hunter Centre for Entrepreneurship, University of Strathclyde
