What's on offer?

A free, friendly, hands-on workshop with plenty of conversation and group activities. You will join a mixed table of around seven or eight people, take part in a shared activity, and hear a short fireside chat. No special knowledge is needed to take part. Refreshments and lunch are provided, and there are regular breaks throughout.

What's it about?

Lots of older people need help with money and help with care at the same time, and these can be offered together in one place, like a community centre, food pantry or community hub. These are sometimes called '‘co-located services''. This workshop welcomes older people, carers, community members, practitioners and others into one room to share experiences of getting support in one place, and to map together the ripples these places create, which are the knock-on effects that spread out into people's lives and communities.

Together we will spend the day exploring what can help, where it can make a difference, and what might make good things happen more often. The workshop will be a chance to be heard, meet others, and help raise awareness of how support in one place can help older people.

Who's leading the event?

The Co-CARE team from the Care Policy and Evaluation Centre (CPEC) at LSE. Find out more about the Co-CARE team's work as part of SOCRATES (the Social Care Rapid Evalution Team).
