The Money Maze: Every Decision Counts

The Money Maze: Every Decision Counts is a 90-minute in person event interactive game where attendees make everyday money decisions and deal with unexpected events. The session will end with 15-minutes reflection, where participants can compare experience and reflection on what they learnt.  The event will take place at BRIG Café at The Warehouse in Birmingham. Attendees do not need previous knowledge of money or finance to take part.

The Money Maze: Every Decision Counts is an immersive experience that explores realistic choices around housing, food, work, savings and unexpected expenses. The event will help people understand how their own decisions and external factors, such as rising living costs, changes employment and unexpected life events, can affect financial wellbeing. Attendees will take part in a fun and engaging activity that encourages reflection and discussion about building financial resilience.

The event is led by Pearl Gyan- Amponsah, a Postgraduate researcher at Aston University, with support from Sedinam Ameku, a fellow postgraduate researcher associated with Aston University’s Centre for Personal Financial Wellbeing.

The event is open to members of the public living in Birmingham, with a focus on young adults aged 18-35. It is particularly aimed at early-career workers, apprentice, job seeker, self-employed people and young parents who may be navigating everyday financial decision.

The event is relevant to people experiencing changes in their financial circumstances, such as starting employment, managing independent living, supporting family, or dealing with the impact of rising cost.
