What's on offer?

This free 90-minute online workshop brings research together with a compassionateleadership approach, then invites you to help shape what a good organisational
response to financial hardship looks like. This interactive workshop explores how leaders and organisations can support staff wellbeing during periods of financial pressure and economic uncertainty. Through practical workplace scenarios, facilitated discussion and audience participation, attendees will examine how financial hardship can affect employees, organisational culture and workplace relationships. Participants will explore evidence-informed compassionate leadership approaches that may help strengthen resilience, wellbeing and organisational support. The session concludes with practical actions that attendees can take back to their own organisations and a take-away resource pack signposting further evidence and support.

What's it about?

The cost-of-living crisis continues to affect employees, managers and organisations across all sectors. Financial pressures can influence wellbeing, stress levels, workplace relationships, absence, retention and organisational culture.

This workshop explores what social science research can tell us about the relationship between financial hardship, wellbeing and leadership. Participants will consider how compassionate leadership approaches may help organisations respond more effectively to these challenges while supporting both organisational performance and staff wellbeing.

Using realistic workplace examples and facilitated discussion, attendees will explore common organisational challenges, share experiences and identify practical actions that leaders can take to create supportive workplace environments. The session will bring together research evidence, practitioner experience and regional perspectives to encourage reflection and discussion.

Attendees will leave with practical ideas, resources and evidence-informed approaches that can be applied within their own organisations.
