What's on offer?

Have you seen content on social media that you think objectifies girls and women? Do you want to do something about it?

Join a fun, supportive and creative workshop for girls and gender marginalised people to explore social media content and co-create artwork that will help social media users to respond to negative content in an empowering way

Through guided activities including collage, you will have the opportunity to express yourself, connect with other young people and help to develop ways to raise awareness and build resilience online.

What's it about?

The workshop will provide a welcoming and relaxed space to explore the positive and empowering things you can do on social media to make safer spaces.

During the workshop, the team will share an animation about online objectification that was co-created by girls and young women in Leeds. With artist Dawn Woolley, participants will use the animation as inspiration to create drawings, collages or poems to express their experiences and ways they can support each other online. No previous creative experience is needed- just bring yourself.

Who's leading the event?

Sally Dibb, Professor of Marketing and Society at Manchester Metropolitan University.

Dr Dawn Woolley, Artist and Research Fellow at Leeds University.
