Running a Local Campaign on Fair, Local and Good Quality Jobs
Date & time
3 November 2025 | 13.00-15.00
What's on offer?
The session will engage participants by offering a short taster on the 5 Steps to Social Change Community Organising process, providing you with an opportunity to discuss issues related to accessing employment for yound people. It is a dynamic session designed to address critical issues surrounding fair, local, and high-quality jobs, particularly as they impact young people in our community. The event draws insights from the successful "Community Jobs Compact" initiatives developed by researchers at Cardiff University.
What's it about?
This session focuses on the lived experiences of young people who are navigating the contemporary job market. It examines the pressures on individuals and communities related to jobs and pay, emphasises the importance of quality employment, and proposes practical solutions.
By empowering young people to lead the conversation and advocate for fair practices, the event will help to reshape the future of work in our local community, ensuring that "working lives" are secure, fulfilling, and equitable for the next generation.
