What's on offer?

Join us for an interactive session exploring whether going green could also help businesses save money and attract customers. You will take part in a short, practical CircuBee activity exploring the challenges and opportunities businesses face when adopting sustainable practices. The session will include an interactive balance-scale game, followed by a group discussion about what could make sustainable choices easier and more worthwhile for businesses and their customers. The event will take approximately 60 minutes and will take place in person at Peel Park Campus.

What's it about?

Sustainable business does not always have to mean higher costs. This event explores the barriers that can make going green difficult, alongside the motivations and support that could make sustainable action more achievable.

Through the CircuBee activity, you will consider questions such as: What stops businesses from becoming more sustainable? What could make it worthwhile? Could attracting customers, reducing costs or improving reputation provide enough motivation? What support would businesses need?

The session will also explore how digital tools and rewards could encourage sustainable and circular behaviours. Your views will help researchers understand what

Who's leading the event?

The event will be led by Dr Kate Han, Lecturer in Digital Business and Information Systems at the University of Salford. She will be joined by Dr Ruth Hudson, Subject Group Head and Carbon Literacy Project Lead at Salford Business School, and Dr Ashraful Alam, Associate Professor of Sustainability and Programme Leader for MSc Finance, who will co-host the discussion alongside relevant local stakeholders.

The event is open to adults, particularly local business owners, managers, employees, community members and others interested in sustainability, business and the cost of living.
