The event will last 60 minutes, split between an interactive classroom experiment and a discussion of a larger field experiment on discrimination.

What's it about?

The event will broaden the public view about what Economics is about (this is not just about money and finance), and introduce research methods to explore causality. In particular, we will explore how economists conduct experiments to explore issues of discrimination.

Who's leading the event?

The events are led by Professor Arnaud Chevalier and Dr Abu Siddique from the Economics Department at Royal Holloway. They will take place in two local schools, and at Royal Holloway University.

Open to

The school events are targeted at young people age 15-17 and their parents. The event at Royal Holloway, University of London will be open to the general public.

Of particular interest to

This is a general interest design. It might be of particular interest to young people interested in understanding how people behave, and how their behaviour can be explained by economics.
