What's on offer?

A free family event for primary-age children and their grown-ups

Through games, creative activities and family-friendly discussions, you'll discover research showing that generosity isn't about giving more. It's about giving in ways that can make even small amounts go further.

Designed especially for primary-aged children and their parents, carers and grandparents, this interactive event offers a positive and welcoming space to talk about money, fairness, kindness and the kind of world we want to build together.

What's it about?

Have you ever wondered how much difference £1 can make?

Join One World Together and researchers from The University of Manchester for a fun-filled family event exploring money, kindness and the surprising power of generosity.

Get creative by painting your own piggy bank to take home, tackle hands-on puzzles and challenges, and discover some fascinating facts about what happens when we donate to good causes. Along the way, you'll explore big questions together:

  • Do you need lots of money to make a difference?
  • Where does a charity donation actually go?
  • Can small acts of kindness help change the world?

Come along, get creative, take home some new challenges and ideas, and discover why you don't have to give the world to change the world.

Sometimes, £1 is all it takes to start making a difference.

Who's leading the event?

Professor Niki Banks, Global Development Institute, University of Manchester
